Getting to Know Your Speakers

Boesel holds the position of Principal Economist in the Office of the Chief Economist at CoreLogic, where she is responsible for analyzing and forecasting housing and mortgage market trends, including the single-family rental market. She has nearly 30 years of experience and expertise in mortgage market analysis, model development, and risk analysis in the housing finance industry. Boesel is a frequent speaker at leading industry events and contributor to several industry publications. Her original research blogs for the CoreLogic Insights blog are frequently picked up in national and trade publications and are leveraged as news pieces. Last year Boesel and her colleagues won an award for their published work on pandemic-related housing preferences, home prices, rent and inflation.

In his role, Merritt oversees mortgage servicing contact centers and default servicing divisions at BOK Financial, encompassing Customer Service and Default Contact Centers, as well as managing loss mitigation processing, foreclosure, bankruptcy, claims, post-sale, and loss analysis teams. He previously managed mortgage subservicers at Goldman Sachs, and played integral roles at Mr. Cooper, primarily in customer care, loss mitigation, and first line of defense.

Russell is VP of Post-Sale Activities in Default Servicing at Carrington Mortgage Services, and leads Carrington’s efforts to manage default inventory, as well as reduce enterprise risk factors. Carrington is a vertically integrated real estate and mortgage company that specializes in the lifecycle of single-family assets. Her experience in the mortgage industry is broad and deep, covering mortgage originations, performing loans, loss mitigation, foreclosure, claims, and risk management. Russell is currently Chair of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) Loan Administration Committee.

As CRO at Selene, Vella is responsible for driving revenue generation through ongoing leadership of sales, marketing, client management, and product innovation. He brings more than 20 years of experience leading organizations and delivering exceptional results across multiple industries. Prior to joining Selene, Vella served as Chief Revenue Officer of Altisource. Before that, he served as COO of Equator LLC. He began his financial services career with the FDIC and Freddie Mac. He later served as Chief Sales Officer for H&R Block’s mortgage company; CEO of Household International’s Automotive Business; President and CEO of Bear Stearns EMC Mortgage Company; and as EVP for Special Servicing of GMAC/RESCAP.
