Mr. Cooper Group Inc. has announced that Mike Rawls, CEO of Xome, plans to retire effective June 30, 2025, and Chris Marshall, former Vice Chairman and President at Mr. Cooper, will join Xome to lead its operations. Rawls and Marshall will work together over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.
“Since taking on the role of CEO in 2020, Mike has skillfully led Xome to become the powerhouse real estate marketplace it is today, with tremendous opportunity for growth as we move into 2025,” said Jay Bray, Chairman and CEO of Mr. Cooper Group. “We are sincerely grateful for Mike’s thoughtful leadership and innovative spirit over his 25 years with the Mr. Cooper Group team, and we wish him all the best.”
In addition to his new role with Xome, Marshall will continue in his role as Chair for Sagent.

Incoming Xome CEO Chris Marshall
Incoming Xome CEO Chris Marshall currently serves as Vice Chair of Mr. Cooper Group. Marshall joined Mr. Cooper in January 2019 from Tax Guard Inc., where he served as Executive Chair. Previously, he was with Capital Bank Financial Corporation. where he served as Co-Founder and CFO since 2009. Through his leadership, Capital Bank grew from a start-up business to $10 billion in assets, and was sold for $2.2 billion. He also successfully led the company through its IPO, as well as the acquisition and integration of eight community banks.
Previously, Marshall served as Chief Restructuring Officer and Senior Advisor to the CEO at GMAC, (now Ally Financial Inc.). He also served as an advisor to The Blackstone Group LP, providing advice and analysis for potential investments in the banking sector. From 2006-2008, Chris served as CFO at Fifth Third Bancorp. Prior to that, Chris served in various senior leadership roles at Bank of America Corporation, Honeywell International Inc., AlliedSignal Technical Services Corporation and TRW Inc.

Mike Rawls, current EVP and CEO of Xome. Prior to joining Xome in 2020, Mike served as EVP of Servicing for Mr. Cooper Group, where he held operational responsibility for the company’s entire servicing portfolio. Since joining the company in 2000, Rawls has served in several leadership positions, including as President of Champion Mortgage, and senior roles in the company’s originations channels. Previously, Rawls held leadership roles at Banc One Financial Services from 1997-1999, and at Household Financial Services from 1991-1997.
